The game TechnoLOGICal Surprise during WUT Open Door day
The game promoted the Warsaw University of Technology, supporting the recruitment process for the studies; its purpose was to familiarise the participants (potential students) with the Main Campus of WUT and with the offer of particular departments. This is why the tasks concerning specific courses were presented to the participants by animators which were distinguished specialists in the respective field. The players were encrypting communication strings using Bliss symbols, identifying starch in food products as well as fixing the windshield wipers in Nysa 522!
Context
Warsaw University of Technology organised the Open Door day for potential students, who were engaged in a game which interactively presented the inventions and scientific discoveries in fields such as construction, aviation or mechanics as interesting and worthwhile.
Challenges
- creating the screenplay of the game as well as engaging tasks connected with scientific subjects and technology tested by scientists of WUT
- using positive motivation: anyone who completed at least 60% of the tasks could have won the game
- animating a non-specified and not standard group of people: future studentscooperating with a public institution in terms of preparing the space for the tasks as well as visual setting
